Pencak Silat championship commences at Srinagar

Srinagar, May 28: Pencak Silat District Srinagar Championship 2022-23 organised by District Srinagar Pencak Silat Association under the aegis of Pencak Silat Association of J&K commenced today at Indoor Sports Complex Pologround Srinagar.

The championship is being sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and is part of the ongoing special sports initiative ‘My Youth My Pride’ which has so far brought hundreds of thousands of players under its fold.

Around 285 athletes from different schools and clubs are participating in 4-age groups which include Pre-teen boys and girls sub junior and junior boys and girls besides senior Men and women players.

Divisional Sports Officer (C) J&K Sports Council, Nusrat Gazala presided over the function as chief guest.

While interacting with the players and officials, she said these events go a long way in shaping and securing the athletic career of players.
