Lay focus on producing marketable products: MD JKRLM to Field workers

Assures better market linkage facilitation for all products

Srinagar, May  27: Mission Director Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), Indu Kanwal Chib today emphasised on the field workers of the Mission to focus on channelizing the efforts  in the products being produced by the members to make them marketable. She assured the officials that a robust market linkage will be facilitated by the Mission enabling the members to sell off their products. These remarks were made by her while chairing a review of the various Livelihood established by the SHG members promoted under Mission in Kashmir Division.

She further directed the officials to identify one cluster in each Block for training the members for branding and packaging of the products and Mission will provide all  the required support.

The meeting also discussed that different new verticals will be added to the program activities that will focus on livelihood generation and economic development of the SHG members.

It was decided in the meeting that Mission will train 50 rural  Women of UMEED, Five Per District  to work as sale women at designated market places so that sales are made in more professional manner. The sale women will be equipped with the marketing and sale ideas at posh areas which the Mission has explored like Airports, Railways etc.

MD impressed upon the officers to undertake on priority the livelihood convergence with different departments and schemes especially in Prime Minister’s Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) for augmentation of their livelihoods further.

The meeting was attended by Additional Mission Director Kashmir, Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, State project Managers JKRLM, District programme Managers, Block Programme Managers, and other officials of the Mission.
