CMO Anantnag Convenes Meeting With HWOH Bijbehara To Deliberate On Various Issues Concerning Disabled Persons

Anantnag, May 27:A high level meeting was organised under chair of Chief Medical Officer Anantnag in which representatives of Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline Bijbehara Kashmir and ministerial staff of respective Chief Medical Officer participated to discuss on various issues concerning the disabled person and measures to help out such individuals at health facilities across the district.

An official privy to the meeting said that among the various issues taken up for discussion included; Early identification and intervention of new born babies having some physical Disabilities and after proper scanning of children with Disabilities to check the invisible disabilities (if any); Organising awareness cum sensitization of ASHA workers, so that pregnant ladies and lactating mothers can take measures to save their babies from disabilities; Shifting of medical board to GMC, so that persons with Disabilities don’t face issues of transport and reasonable accommodation in Kamad where currently CMO office is located; Presence of all specialists in the medical board on every Wednesday, so that persons with Disabilities get hassle free disability certificates; Awareness and sensitization among medical board members, so that only deserving persons with Disabilities get certificates on timely basis; Designation of doctors in all hospitals who can seal and sign railway concession certificates, prosthetic aid forms and other forms needed to be filled time to time; Steps to be taken for complete stoppage of fake disability certificates, so that rights of persons with deserving disable are safeguarded; Outreach programmes of health checkups to be conducted in far-flung areas of district Anantnag in which the population of disability is high; Visit of chief medical officer and staff to zaiba Aapa institute of inclusive Education Bijbehara where children with different types of benchmark Disabilities seek education; Children victim of abuse and punishment should be given priority treatment and their privacy should be maintained; Doctors and paramedical staff should be sanitized about child line services so that cases brought through childline are given full cooperation and assistance and Conversion of all disability certificates into UDID cards.

Chief Medical officer Anantnag Dr Mohammad Yousuf zagoo assured that all issues related to disability will be addressed on priority and no stone will remain unturned to provide the hassle free health care facilities including immunization and online certification.

“I am always transparent and answerable along with my team and dedicated staff to empower the disability sector in Anantnag”, Dr Zagoo said.

All the staff concerned with outreach programmes, certification of disability certificates were present and assured they will work with extraordinary commitment and dedication to make lives of persons with Disabilities easier and prosper in district Anantnag under the leadership of CMO Anantnag.

Javed Ahmad Tak, Adil Rashid Vaid and Sujahat Farhan representatives of Humanity Welfare organisation Helpline thanked CMO Anantnag for cordial support and cooperation in future development and empowerment of persons with Disabilities.
