DC Ganderbal inspects public utilities, transit camp Manigam, Rural Haat along Yatra route

Ganderbal, May 25: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir today inspected progress on construction of various public utilities along Yatra route, facilities at transit camp Manigam in Ganderbal district.

During the visit, the DC inspected various lavatory blocks at various locations including Nagbal, Bus stand near SSP Office, Beehama chock, Wayil, manigam, Haripora and other locations along the Yatra route.

While inspected the progress on various lavatory blocks, the DC directed the concerned to expedite the progress on all ongoing works so that they get completed before the commence of annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. He also stressed for keeping surroundings clean at all public utilities and using proper signage to make them more visible.

Meanwhile, the DC also inspected the progress on under construction Rural Haat at Haripora being constructed at the cost of Rs 13.25 lakh and was briefed by the BDO Lar about the progress of work. The DC directed the BDO to expedite the work progress and development of approach road so that it gets completed on time.

During visit the DC also visited transit camp Manigam and inspected the newly constructed lavatory blocks and directed the R&B to ensure all basic facilities are made available including water and electricity at an earliest to make them functional.

The DC also visited various identified government schools along the Yatra route that could be used in case of any emergency during the Yatra period.

The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CEO, BDO Lar and other concerned.
