“Thalassemia’’ patients pin new hopes in visiting high altitude

Srinagar,May 20 :The propagation of the new method of treatment in thalassemia patients increased the quality of life of them recently. Patients with Thalassemia were not able to go to high tourism places like Sona marg, Gulmarg, Pahalgam due to breathing problems following low haemoglobin level. Now the new treatment method all the Thalassemia major patients maintaining the Haemoglobin level more than 10 gm %. It helps the patients to go high altitude places and enjoy the sightseeing.

As per the latest reports, Thalassemia patients from different part of India including Kerala are coming to Kashmir to visit all the altitude tourism places.

“Modern care should be provided to all the Thalassemia patients to assure quality of life to them. In such cases patients can lead a normal life like other common people”, said State General Convenor, Blood Patients Protection Council, Kerala, Kareem Karassery.

Notably, Thalassemia is a disease of acute haemoglobin disorder and need frequent lifelong blood transfusion to survive their life. By maintaining high haemoglobin level the quality of the life of the patients increased and can do any work.(
