SP College Srinagar organizes Annual College Road Race-2022

Srinagar, May 20: S.P College Srinagar today organised Annual College Road Race-2022 from Nishat Garden to Naseem Bagh Hazratbal.

The race was organised by Department of Physical Education and Sports in Collaboration with College Sports board as per the Annual Sports calendar from the month of May 2022.

The race for Boys was flagged off today morning by College Principal, Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Khan, held from Nishat Garden to Naseem Bagh Hazratbal. Around 60 students of the college participated in the run via Foreshore road, Duck Park and Culminated at Naseem Bagh Hazratbal covering a distance of 6 kilometers.

Mehraj-u-Din finished first with the timing of 24:5 minutes followed by Suhail Ashraf with the timing of 26:4 minutes Suhail Bashir finished third with the timing of 28:3 minutes.

The Prize Distribution ceremony for the event was held at Naseem Bagh dueing which Vice Chancellor Cluster University, Prof. Qayyum Hussain awarded Trophies, Medals and jogging shoes to winners.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor congratulated all the participants and assured them that the Cluster University is committed to develop required infrastructure for the overall development of the sports.

Principal, S.P College Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Khan felicitated the participants and urged them to take part in co-curricular activities. The Principal also appreciated the members of Sports committee for coordinating the event successfully.

Prof Tariq Asahi, Secretary Sports Cluster University, on the occasion highlighted the importance of sports activities for achieving good health and building character.

 Prof Bashir Ahmad Mir (HOD Chemistry), Prof Wiliyat Rezvi (HOD Botany) and Prof Manzoor Ahmad wani ( Associate professor Botany), who also spoke on the occasion, briefed the students about the importance of sports and urged them to participate in more events to be organized throughout the year.
