Kupwara, May 18 : Police on Wednesday said to have arrested a drug peddler from whose possession it ‘recovered a huge narcotics consignment besides unauthorised cash’ in Diver Lolab area in frontier north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police official told GNS that on receipt of specific input, a team headed by DySP Lolab and SHO Lalpora Mushtaq Ahmad apprehended a person at Kakkadpatti in Diver Lolab.
“During the searches, the police team recovered 12-kilograms of Charas-like substance and an unauthorised amount of 5.64 lac from the possession of the person”, the official said.
Identifying the accused as one Mohammad Shafi Gojri, a local, the police official further said that a case under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered against the accused for due proceedings.
