Ramban, May 18: The Brig Yogesh Sharma, Cdr 11 Sector today inaugurated Cricket League “Pre-qualifier Matches” for White Knight Premier League tournament.
Dharambir Singh, District Youth Services & Sports Officer and Deputy SP Pardeep Kumar Sen were also present at the inaugural function of the sports event which would continue till May24, 2022.
The tournament is being organized by the ARMY at District Police Line, Ramban for the youth of the district to motivate them towards physical fitness and fostering sportsmanship.
As many as 16 teams from different parts of the district have registered for the tournament. Inaugural match of the tournament was played between Shah-I-Assar Kaskoot vs Rajput Royals Rajgarh.
It was informed that the tournament is aimed to provide an opportunity to young talent to showcase their skills and select the best players for White Knight Cricket Premier League scheduled to be held from June 2 to June 15, 2022 at Akhnoor. The event elicited tremendous response from the youth of Ramban district (J&K).
The Army assured the local population for the continued co-operation to assist boosting sports in the area and conduct sports events in the future also.
