Union MoS visits Ganderbal, inspects functioning of Tulmulla Dairy Cooperative Society

Pays obeisance at Kheer Bhawani Shrine

Ganderbal, May  13: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Cooperation and Development of North Eastern Region, B L Verma, today visited Ganderbal and inspected functioning of Tulmulla Milk Producers Dairy Cooperative Society Limited, Ganderbal.

During the visit, MoS inspected various units of the Society and was briefed about functioning of the same by the Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Society, Ganderbal.

It was informed that the said Dairy Cooperative Society is working since 1982 with a membership of 318 milk producers and has raised an appreciable movable and immovable infrastructure worth more than Rs 10 crore out of its own profit.

Regarding the facilities, MoS was informed that it has Bulk Milk Cooling facilities to store surplus milk besides society is intending to establish a milk processing and curd packaging unit soon.

MoS complimented the society for organizing an impressive and fruitful primary level unit of such scale and stressed upon expansion of its business and membership horizon so that ample opportunities of employment are generated in the area.

He assured complete support from the Union Ministry of Cooperation for such potential Cooperative Societies.

While interacting with the management of society, MoS exhorted upon the Deputy Registrar to organize awareness programmes in different locations of the district to revive Cooperative movement so that the problems faced by poor and marginalized sections of the society are mitigated by way of associating them with Cooperatives.

Earlier, Union MoS visited Kheer Bhawani Shrine Tulmulla and paid obeisance there praying for peace and progress of J&K.
