District Wushu Championship commences in South Kashmir

Secretary Sports Council declares event open amid mammoth gathering of athletes, sports lovers

Srinagar, May 13:  A three day District Anantnag Wushu Championship being organised by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with J&K Wushu Association commenced today in Nelandrusu Indoor Hall, Anantnag.


The mega sports event was declared open by Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council in which more than 850 players including boys as well as girls are participating.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary J&K Sports Council lauded the efforts of J&K Wushu Association and its affiliate District unit of Anantnag for providing the opportunity and a platform to the youth of South Kashmir to prove their mettle at the national and international level events.
She emphasised on the major role sports can play to keep a check on the drug menace as sportspersons are the true.
