SMC intensifies Anti Encroachment Drive in the city

Srinagar, May 12 :An action against encroachments along mains roads and markets was taken today at Entire stretch of LD road, Maharaja Bazar Goni Khan and entire Jahangir Chowk.
 During the drive  goods displayed by street vendors and shopkeepers  outside their shops   were removed and seized on spot.
Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan who was personally monitoring the drive has passed on directions to intensify the drive on regular basis.
Directions were given to the Chief Anti Encroachment Officer and SDPO Shaheed Gunj to regularly clear the encroachments and the vendors who illegally occupy roads and footpaths causing many obstructions in smooth regulation of traffic.
Athar has further directed that SMC and SDPO shall work in close coordination for continuous Anti encroachment drives to be held particularly in these busy market areas. making these drives successful  and for pedestrians convenience.
These drives will also be intensified in every part of the city in the coming days and no street vendor or shopkeeper will be allowed to encroach upon roadside spaces and footpaths.
