Omar Abdullah’s claims on use of loudspeakers far from truth: Altaf Thakur

‘Says use of speakers prohibited  round the clock, not for Azaan, Friday sermons; Omar trying to gain political mileage, media attention without having proper knowledge on subject’

Srinagar, May 1:BJP JK spokesman Altaf Thakur today lashed out at National Conference  vice president Omar Abdullah for playing politics over use of loud speakers just to gain political mileage. Thakur said that use of loud speakers have been prohibited round the clock not for Azaan and Friday speech in  Utar Pradesh , Gujrat and other States of India as claimed by Omar. Thakur said that various sects like Wahabi, Deobandi and others have already termed use of loud speakers as bidah (unislamic) and Omar should clarify whether he considers these sects as Muslims. Thakur said that just to gain political mileage and media attention  and to stay in news, Omar is stooping so low that he is misrepresenting facts.
Thakur said that before giving  religious sermons, Omar must walk down the memory lane and recall how on April 4, 1979, its men burnt Islamic schools, torched holy Quran and shaved off beards of people. The BJP leader suggested Omar not to indulge in religious affairs before having proper knowledge about the same.
