Three drug peddlers arrested, narcotics recovered

Kupwara, April 30: In yet another success against drug peddlers in the district, Kupwara Police has arrested three drug peddlers in two different cases and recovered narcotics from their possession .
In a case registered at Police Station Lalpora vide FIR No. 22/2022 under sections 8/21 NDPS Act, team of police led by  SHO Mushtaq Ahmed was successful in arresting two drug peddlers Saqib  Nazir Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat and Asif Ahmad Wani son of Bashir Ahmad Wani, both residents of of Diver Lolab,  when an information about their selling of drugs in Diver Kaidwan area was developed by Police.  On their  personal search , contraband substance, apparently Charas,   weighing  about 200 grams was recovered from their possession.  Further investigation of both the accused is going on in Police Station Lalpora.

The second case of arrest of a drug peddler was registered in Police Station Kupwara when Incharge Police Post Dragmulla SI Ashak Hussain received an information from a reliable  source that a drugs peddler namely Beedar Ahmad  Mir son of Gulam Rasool Mir, a resident of Jaggarpora carrying  narcotics was proceeding towards Kupwara town to sell it. Acting upon this information, a case FIR No.103/2022 was registered in Police Station Kupwara and Incharge Police Post Dragmulla along with Executive Magistrate First Class established a naka near B Ed College Dragmulla during which Beedar Ahmad Mir was apprehended.

During his personal search Charas like substance weighing approximately 300 grams was recovered and investigations taken up .
