Land donor accuses PHE of cheating, says Deptt took land, didn’t provide promised job

Budgam, April 20 :Landlord from Budgam district accused PHE department for failing to live up to their promise.

The land donors, Bashir Ahmad Deeded and Ghulam Mohd deeded told CNS that they donated their land measuring 2 Kanals to PHE Department in 2018 for construction of service reservoir for water storage at shalinar marg for utilization of filtration plant. Department promised job and compensation but nothing has been done on the ground.

Bashir Ahmad added that PHE department has failed to compensate the land donors. “We are roaming from one department to another but things remain unchanged on ground,” he said.

“We donated land in lieu of engagement. The Department put everything in black and white in presence of first class Magistrate. Despite taking away our land, we were not provided any job. We feel cheated and were left with no option but to run from pillar to post to get our rights,” they said.

They appealed Lieutenant Governor led administration and Chief Engineer PHE to look into their matter so that it would be resolved within days, otherwise they would be compelled to hit the streets along with their families.
