DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal camp at Shalteng

Inspects progress of works on Rs 4.38 Cr ITI complex Zainakote, other developmental projects

Srinagar, April 13: In order to bring Administration at the door steps of people for an on spot resolution of their developmental issues, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today held a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Bemina in Shalteng Tehsil under weekly Block Diwas programme.

The programme was held within the premises of SDM/Tehsil Office Shalteng and witnessed large participation of people from Maloora, Mujgund, Ranbir Garh, Khushi Pora Panzinara-A, Panzinara-B, Zainakote, HMT, Tengpora Batamaloo and other adjoining areas of Shalteng Tehsil of Srinagar.

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, PRI representatives, Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various issues and demands before the chair particularly the long pending issue arising out of jurisdictional overlap with Baramulla and Bandipora districts.

Besides, PRI representatives, individuals and other delegations, also demanded for macadamization of roads, augmentation of water and power supply, repairs of drainage system, upgradation of schools, providing electric poles, development of playground, commissioning of ITI Zainakote, development of Parimpora Fruit Mandi and General Bus Stand and other issues.

After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.

He also assured the people of Shalteng Tehsil that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority. He said that the issue regarding jurisdictional issues has already been taken up with higher authorities and will be resolved soon.

The DC also gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.

On the occasion, the DC asked the educated unemployed youth to come forward and take benefit from different Government self-employment schemes to earn a dignified livelihood for themselves and their family.

Later, the DC inspected several developmental works including progress of work on construction of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Zainakote being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.38 crore.

On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned to expedite the work on construction of boundary wall around the premises of the Institute. He also asked the R&B authorities to prepare a DPR for construction of a Community Facilitation Center in the area so that people of the area are benefited.

The DC also directed the Tehsildar and other concerned to speed up the process of transfer of additional land to the Government Boys Higher Secondary School and Middle School to augment the upgraded facilities for both the schools.

Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, General Manager DIC, Hameeda Akhtar, Deputy Director Employment, Rouf-ul-Rehman, SDM West, Pimroze Bashir, Tehsildar, Shalteng, Younis Ahmad, besides other senior officers and Engineers of the District Administration were present in the Public Grievance Redressal Camp under weekly Block Diwas.
