Cleanliness drive of world famous Dal Lake continues on 3rd day

VC, SKUAST removes weed; appreciates students for taking part in cleanliness of Dal Lake

Srinagar, April 11: The cleanliness drive of world famous Dal Lake continued for the third day today under the name ATHWAAS after it was kicked-off by Lt. Governor on 9th April, 2022.

Today, the drive was started by Vice Chancellor (V.C) SKUAST, Nazir Ahmad Ganai by removing the weed from the Dal Lake.

Students from SP College and ex servicemen from Defence forces also took part in the drive.

The VC on the occasion appreciated the students and also appraised the working of LCMA. He said that 60 students from their university on a daily basis will participate in the drive. He also said that students from all the universities of Kashmir should come forward for the said purpose so that we all can make it possible to restore the glory of Dal Lake.

Meanwhile, a special demolition drive was launched by the Lake Conservation & Management Authority through its Enforcement Wing today under the supervision of Enforcement Officers in the areas of  Rakh-i-Arth Bemina.

During the demolition drive 03 Slabs, One Tin Walling, One Plinth, and earth filling which was illegally dumped was removed from site.
