02 LeT militant associates held in Budgam, arms and ammunition recovered: Police

Srinagar, April 9:Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two militant associates of Lashkar-i-Toiba outfit in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A statement issued to GNS, the police said that Police in Budgam alongwith 2RR & 179Bn CRPF have arrested two militant associates of outfit LeT from orchard area of Rathsun Beerwah, Budgam. They have been identified as Wajid Yousuf Akhoon son of Mohammad Yousuf Akhoon resident of Rathsun Beerwah & Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh son of Wali Mohammad Sheikh resident of Kawoosa Khalisa.

Incriminating materials of outfit LeT, arms & ammunition including one Chinese Pistol, 02 pistol magazines, 12 pistol rounds have been recovered from their possession, they said.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 35/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been initiated, reads the statement.
