Notorious Thief from Kupwara Booked Under PSA

Srinagar, April 7 : Jammu and Kashmir Police Thursday booked a notorious thief from Kupwara under stringent Public Safety Act.

“A notorious thief involved in at least five cases of burglary and theft in and around Kupwara town was today detained under Jammu and Kashmir PSA for his unrelenting criminal acts of burglary and theft. Known for spreading fear among peace loving public of Kupwara, Mudasir Ahmad Lone infamously known as Mud Chour son of Late Abdul Majeed Lone of Mughalpora and Tehsil & District Kupwara”, reads a police statement issued to GNS.

“After assessing his incorrigible behaviour and consistent involvement in criminal cases, a dossier of his wrongdoings was prepared by District Police Kupwara and a detention warrant under PSA was obtained and executed against the accused”, reads the statement.

“He had made burglary and theft as his sole profession and was looting the people in one or the other manner”, maintains the statement.

More such actions against the known burglars are in the offing in the coming days, the statement further read.
