Cultural program was organized by Parashu Brigade

Srinagar, Mar 30 : To carry forward the efforts of the Army to reach out to the locals and to show them diverse cultural heritage of the nation, a cultural program was organized by Parashu Brigade on 24 Mar 22 for local population and ex-servicemen of Nimu, Basgo, Alchi and Likir villages. The entertainment program was attended by approximately 250 community members from these villages, to include veterans and civil defense employees. Cultural event comprised of live music performances, Bhangra, Khukri dance, Ladakhi songs, Pahadi dance followed by high tea. The event saw an overwhelming response by women folk and kids of the area who even participated by dancing on the tunes of Ladakhi folklores and the Bhangra beats. Station Commander, Nimu also interacted with the villagers during the cultural event.

The event was greatly appreciated by the locals majority of whom are associated with Army in one way or the other. These people seldom get a chance to visit other states to see various facets and diversity of Indian culture. Parashu Brigade of Fire and Fury Corps is doing a yeoman service to these villages by addressing their hardships, provide skill development for local women folk to empower them in earning a livelihood and to be self-sustained.
