Body of Baramulla Man Gone Missing Last Year Retrieved from Jhelum River

Srinagar, Mar 30 : Body of a person hailing from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was found and subsequently retrieved from river Jhelum, a year after the person went missing from his home.

An official said that a decomposed body was found inside river Jhelum at Dandkhand Mod near Eco Park in Khadniyar area of Baramulla. “The body was retrieved and found to be of one Abdul Majeed Wani son of Abdul Karim Wani, a resident of Nowrang Naradari in Sheeri, who had gone missing from his home on June 09, 2021”, the official said.

“A missing report was also filed by the family then, however no clue of him was found upto now”, the official said adding the body was being handed over to the family after conduct of necessary medico-legal formalities.

A police official has in the meantime also confirmed  about the recovery of the body from the area.
