Ganderbal, Mar 28: One day sensitization/training programme was today held at Townhall Ganderbal regarding communicable diseases and roles and responsibilities of PRIs to achieve the objectives of various centrally sponsored non communicable disease programmes.

DDC Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq was Chief guest on the occasion and President Muncipal Council,Ganderbal, Hilal Ahmad also graced the occasion.
CMO Ganderbal Dr Afroza Shah in her inauguration speech welcomed all the dignitaries and participants and stressed about the theme of the workshop.
The participants included DDCs,BDCs,Sarpanches and Panches of the district Ganderbal.
DDC Chairperson, Nuzhat Ishfaq while signifying the importance of the workshop said that PRIs have to play an important role in sensitising the masses to adapt better health practices and sensitise general public about the importance of improving upon the hygiene and sanitation for better and quality health standards.
President Municipal Council Ganderbal, Hilal Ahmad highlighted the importance of understanding the workload on health care workers and the role of PRIs in working shoulder to shoulder for improving health care services pan district.
Dr Talat Jabeen, State Surveillance Officer Kashmir in her speech emphasized that till PRIs and other stakeholders don’t participate actively, the goal of various national sponsored health care schemes can’t be obtained
The resource person on this occasion were Dr Mansoor Wani (District Epidemiologist) and Dr Rifat Khan ( Medical Officer, MD SPM) who sensitised the participants about various non communicable diseases and the role of PRIs in assisting the health department to improve upon the health indices and well being of inhabitants of disctrict Ganderbal
At the end CMO Ganderbal expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries and participants who took part in the workshop.
The workshop was organised by DPM unit of CMO Ganderbal under the supervision of CMO Ganderbal.
