Div Com Kashmir kick-starts Plantation Drive at Tangmarg

Baramulla, Mar 25: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K. Pole accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today visited Tangmarg wherein he kick-started the plantation drive by planting Chinar sapling under ”Green J&K Drive Forest Restoration”.

The Plantation Drive was organized by the Special Forest Division Tangmarg.

Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com said that the aim of this plantation drive is to generate awareness among the people for the importance of planting trees. He emphasized the role of trees in protection of the environment and human survival and urged all stakeholders including the general public to plant more and more trees in this plantation season.

  The DC also planted a Conifer sapling on the occasion and highlighted the need to protect and conserve the environment. He said that tree plantation is very important for the safe environment and the initiative will go a long way in inculcating awareness among the masses about the environment and its conservation.
