3 Kashmir districts receive gold medals n World TB Day

New Delhi, Mar 24: On the eve of World Tuberculosis Day, three Kashmir districts including Anantnag, Kupwara and Pulwama were awarded gold medals while Baramulla bagged bronze during a function held at Delhi.

The event was attended by a joint team headed by Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Vivek Bhardwaj, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag, Kupwara and Pulwama besides DTOs and STO.

Union Health Minister, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, presented the gold medals to these districts in Delhi.

Pertinently, Anantnag, Kupwara and Pulwama have shown progress of 60-80% reduction in TB cases and claimed Gold category while Baramulla district has shown progress of about 20% and secured the Bronze category along with 55 other districts in the entire country.
