Block Divas:  Public Outreach Camp held at Bhoond

DDC Chairperson & DC listen to people’s issues

Kathua, Mar 23: To listen and redress the grievances of common masses, a Public Outreach Camp was today held here at Government Higher Secondary School Hutt in remote Block Bhoond.

District Development Council Chairperson Kathua, Mahan Singh, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Yadav, Additional Deputy Commissioner Basohli Tilak Raj Thapa, BDC Chairperson Basohli, Sushma Jamwal, Tehsildar Aman Anand , District and Sectoral officers, PRIs and a large number of people attended the camp.

During the camp, PRIs projected various issues of public importance and sought immediate redress of the same.

Sarpanch Hutt Surinder Singh demanded Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch for Hutt as the people have to travel several KNs to avail banking services. He further raised the issue of shortage of drinking water and teaching staff at Government Higher Secondary School Hutt and demanded the redressal of both the issues at the earliest.

Sarpanch Draman, Madhu Bala demanded blacktopping of Tikri to Jamuna road and release of compensation to the people whose land has been acquired for the road. She raised the issue of shortage of drinking water in the area and said that nothing has been done till date with regard to establishment of Grid station at Draman for Hutt area.

Social activist Darshan Singh demanded a Trauma Centre at Bhoond and a critical care ambulance for PHC Jendrali .He further demanded road connectivity from Mashka to Bhoond via Draman.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Chairman Maan Singh stressed upon the officers to work with dedication and zeal  for the welfare of the people. He asked the officers and PRI members to educate the common masses regarding the government initiatives and welfare schemes launched by the government so that maximum people could be benefitted.

Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav listened to the demands and grievances of the public and public representatives and passed directions to the concerned officers for the redressal of the same.

While addressing the people, the Deputy Commissioner said that the old land records have been digitized and are available in the three languages viz. English, Hindi and Urdu at www.jklandrecords.gov.in. He said that most of the services related to revenue will be made available online within the next six months. He said that the government is encouraging the youth to avail self employment opportunities by providing easy loans.

He appealed the people to enroll themselves for Ayushmaan Bharat Health Insurance programme to avail the health insurance of Rs. 5.00 lakh per family. He further appealed to the people to enroll themselves for various pension schemes.

Later the Deputy Commissioner inspected the proposed sites for Krishi Vigyaan Kendra and also inspected the identified mining block ites at Daali Khad in panchayat Sandhar. He passed directions to the District Mining Officer, Kathua to process the mining documents on the PARIVESH portal for necessary approval.
