SSB 7th Battalion organises series of Civic Action Programmes in Doda

Distributes Sewing machines, computers, tables; hosts free medical camp  

Doda, Mar 22: Sashastra Seema Bal, 07 Battalion today organised a series of Civic Action Programmes at Khillani, Doda.

Deputy Commissioner, Doda Vikas Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Master Popsy, ASP (Doda) and Raj Kumar SP (OPs) Doda also graced the occasion.

The event was thronged by various other dignitaries, school students, and villagers.

 The Programme started with a brief on Sashastra Seema Bal and how the organisation is pursuing its motto of Seva, Suraksha and Bandhutva.

At the outset, the School students from Khillani and Bhatyas presented cultural events.

Afterwards, Sewing machines and tailoring Kits were distributed among 35 women who had undergone 15-day training in Cutting and Stitching organised by 07 Battalion SSB at Gandoh and Khillani.

The conclusion of the 15 day Office Automation Course organised by SSB in affiliation with National Institute of Electronic and Technology, Jammu (NIELIT) was also marked with the distribution of Certificates to participants. Three Computers, along with accessories and tables, were also given to remotely located Government High School, Budhli, Government High School, Bhatoli and Government Middle School, Champal, Doda with the objective of modernising the institution.

Speaking on the          occasion, Shiv Dayal, Commandant, 07 Bn SSB acquainted the participants about the motto of the organisation i.e Service, Security and Brotherhood. He extended gratitude to Villagers, Youths and School authorities for active participation in civic action program carried out for the welfare and socio-economic uplift of the remote villagers.

 The DC appreciated and applauded the efforts taken by the SSB for the welfare of the general Masses in Doda region.

A  Medical Camp was also organised at Khillani on the occasion. Dr. Brajesh Kumar, Commandant Medical, 07 Bn SSB conducted health check up of the villagers and distributed medicines to needy people. Vipan Sharma, Dy. Comdt, Rajesh Kumar, Dy. Comdt and Jagdish Ram, AC were also present in the event.
