PDA, Jammu University, District Admn. Ramban celebrate World Water Day at Sanasar

Jammu, Mar 22: Patnitop Development Authority, in collaboration with District Administration Ramban and Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu, on Tuesday celebrated World Water Day here at the spectacular Sanasar Lake.

The event was aimed at making people aware about environmental issues, recognising and cherishing the value of water in our lives and all that it provides.  The event was held under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

On the occasion, a cleanliness drive was held in the Lake and its surroundings as a part of ‘Carry The Trash Back’ initiative to keep Patnitop Circuit clean and green. It was flagged off by Sher Singh, CEO, PDA.

Later, the participants also explored the traditional springs in the area. It was followed by interactive sessions with tourists visiting Sanasar Lake and locals.

The participants appreciated the initiative and said that each action matters and can ripple out like the waters.

“We need to act now more than ever. Every action is crucial for our planet, and its people,” they said.

Faculty members of Department of Environmental Sciences including Prof. Piyush Malaviya, Head of Department, Prof. A.K. Raina, Prof. Sanjay Sharma, Dr. Deepika Slathia (Organizing Secretary), Dr. Rakesh Kumar, were part of the event along with the students and scholars.
