YSS Cup-21, UT Level Competitions To Begin From March 29

Host districts have been directed to make all the necessary arrangements well in advance: Gazanfar Ali

Jammu Mar 17: The Department of Youth Services and Sports is all set to organise inter district UT level competitions of YSS Cup-21 in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball under phase 1st. The UT level competitions in all the three games are expected to start from 29th of the current month till 2nd April 2022 as per the schedule annexed.


Pertinently Principal Secretary to Govt. Youth Services and Sports Department J&K Kumar along with Director Sports Gazanfar Ali had declared this Cup Open in a well attended function at Khel Gaon Nagrota Jammu on December 16 of the last year. Nearly 9076 Panchayat/ Block teams drawn from all twenty districts of the Union territory in four sports disciplines namely Cricket/Kabadi/Jho-Kho and Volleyball were registered for this historic and first of its kind sports extravaganza.

In a recent official communique, Director YSS has directed all the DYSSOs of the UT to deploy their teams well in time under proper escort of the game knowing officials for taking part in the inter district UT level competitions being organized by the department at different venues. “The Host districts are directed to make all the necessary arrangements of venues, equipment, transport, boarding-lodging and arrangements of refreshment for the smooth conduct of the competitions” , the communique reads. “The Joint Director Kashmir, Deputy Director (Directorate) and Assistant Director Jammu of the Department have been directed to monitor the activities personally and ensure that preferably NIS qualified technical staff is engaged for the smooth conduct of the competitions”, said Gazanfar Ali.
