BBBP: Orientation session held at GDC Dooru

Students participate in slogan, painting competitions

Anantnag, Mar 17: A one day orientation session cum awareness camp for various stakeholders under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was held at Govt Degree College Dooru today, here.

The programme was organised by Project Office ICDS, Larkipora in collaboration with Tehsil Social Welfare Office Dooru and Education Dept.

Along with other events, such programmes also form an important component of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations wherein 75 years of the country’s independence are being commemorated.

President MC Dooru Verinag, CDPO Larkipora, TSWO Dooru, faculty members of GDC Dooru, ICDS Supervisors, officials of Mahila Shakti Kendra Anantnag, Angandi Workers, students of GDC Dooru and others attended the camp.

On the occasion, the speakers apprised the participants about different aspects and dimensions of the BBBP Campaign. Elaborate lectures were delivered on the topic wherein stress was laid on educational, social and economic upliftment and empowerment of womenfolk.

During the camp, thrust was laid upon the role of various stakeholders like government agencies, educational institutions, students, PRIs/ULBs, social activists, NGOs etc to realise its objectives.

To achieve the desired results, the participants were impressed upon to perform their role vis a vis BBBP Campaign with zeal and determination.

The participants pleged to take forward the mandate of the flagship scheme with vigor and commitment.

At the end, the students participated in slogan and painting competitions besides signature campaign highlighting the purpose of the event. They also presented cultural items with skids on the theme, BBBP.
