Tourism Department carries out promotional campaign at Gateway of India

JK stall at OTM, Mumbai awarded

Srinagar, Mar 16: On the sidelines of the three day long OTM being held at Mumbai, the Tourism Department carried out a promotional outreach programme at Gateway of India this morning.

Director, Tourism, Kashmir, Dr. G N Itoo led the campaign during which publicity material was distributed among potential travelers and they were briefed about the tourism potential of the UT.

Meanwhile, the J&K Tourism Department was awarded for its best thematic pavilion for its Shikara themed stall. Director, Tourism, Kashmir, Dr. G N Itoo, Director, SKICC, Bakshi Javed Hymaun, Secretary, JTGC, Manav Gupta were present on the occasion.

Giving away the award, the organizers appreciated the efforts being made by the Department to attract tourists to Jammu & Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the J&K Pavillion at the OTM continued to be thronged by members of travel fraternity and travel enthusiasts on the concluding day as well.

Yesterday, the pavilion was visited by Maldivian Tourism Minister, Abdullah Mussam, Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister, Dr. M. Mathiventhan and Mr. Sandeep Nanduri, Director of Tourism and Managing Director besides hundreds of tour travel operators from far and wide.

Director, Tourism, Kashmir, Dr. G N Itoo had a series of meetings with representatives of tour operators from Pune, Nasik and Nagpur besides Maharashtra Tour Operators Association. He also briefed the travel media about the Department’s preparedness for the coming seasons. He also had a meeting with a FHRAI delegation who expressed their desire to hold their next annual convention at Srinagar.
