DGP sanctions Welfare Relief of over rupees 75 lakh to the NoK’s of martyr/deceased police personnel

Jammu, Mar 14: Continuing with its endeavour to look after the welfare of families of martyr/deceased/ retired Police personnel /SPOs the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over rupees 75 lakh welfare relief in favour of NoKs of martyr/deceased police personnel / SPOs.
The special welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel ASI Chankar Singh, Follower Manpreet Singh and Follower Haseena Akhtar. The deceased personnel passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service. Rupees one lakh each was already paid to NoKs of these deceased police personnel for performing last rites through their concerned units. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.
Vide different PHQ orders welfare relief ranging between rupees 25 thousand to rupees 50 thousand has been sanctioned in favour of legal heirs of eleven martyred Police personnel/ SPOs who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The welfare relief has been sanctioned out of the Police Pariwar Fund.
Similarly Welfare Relief ranging between rupees 15 thousand to 50 thousand has been sanctioned out of J&K Policemen Welfare Fund in favour of retired/ NoKs of deceased police personnel to ease up their financial distress.
Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing welfare relief/loan, financial assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of martyr/deceased police personnel and SPOs.
