Madr-e-Meharban Institute of Nursing Science & Research SKIMS  Celebrates Women’s International Day

Srinagar, Mar 8:Madr-e-Meharban Institute of Nursing Science & Research SKIMS Celebrated Women’s International Day today with focus on this year’s theme ” Gender Equality”. The participants deliberated on various aspects of the theme and underlined the importance of greater participation and elimination of bias at different levels for cohesive society.

Director SKIMS & EOSG Prof. Parvaiz A. Koul   graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address he said that this event is celebrated across the globe to celebrate and acknowledge the role of woman in various spheres of life. He highlighted the significant contribution of woman made in tackling pandemic. He further added that Medical Field has embraced woman from centuries where she performed & contributed in different leadership roles. “Woman should themselves assert for greater participation to make more positive impact in society, he added.

Prof. Tariq Ahmad Gojwari Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS & guest of honour of the event said women is main workforce at SKIMS and appreciated their role and performance at every level. He asserted for better bond of a Nurse with patients and be more empathetic towards them.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr. Farooq A Jan & Vice Principal of the Nursing College, Mrs.  Muneera Kachroo highlighted importance of gender equality in Medical Field and expressed satisfaction that woman in Medical Field has been more empowered & self-reliant.

The event was attended by students & faculty of the college.
