Late night raids conducted to prevent illegal mining tractors seized at Gadool

Anantnag,Mar 8:To Continue the raids on transporters/vehicles involved in illegal mining, Tehsildar Kokernag Syed Muiz Qadri on being informed about the illegal mining activity conducted raid during night hours at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday and instantly approached the spot along with other revenue officials and seized several tractors at Gadole.
No leniency shall be provided to those who are trying to loot the natural resources and cause irreparable damage to the ecology
As per Jammu and Kashmir Minor Mineral Concession, Storage, Transport of Minerals and Prevention of Illegal Mining Rules (2016), only those transporters can transport minor minerals who have proper NOC from Irrigation/Flood Control Department or have challan duly signed by District Mineral Officer.
The raids are conducted in pursuance to the order of worthy Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr.Piyush Singla to prevent such illegal activities in district Anantnag and strict action will be taken against violators.
 It is pertinent to mention that Tehsildar Kokernag Syed Muiz on Monday conducted a surprise raid along the stretch of Brengi Nallah and seized tractors involved in illegal transportation of  minor minerals.
To prevent the ecology of Kokernag, a stern warning is given to those who indulge in such illegal activities.
Meanwhile the issue will be taken up with District Mineral officer to keep a strict vigil on such illegal activities. Also, the ARTO Anantnag will be apprised to check registration of such tractors involved in the seizure.
