Arrangements for iconic women’s week finalised in Rajouri

Rajouri, Mar 8: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss and finalize the arrangements for the iconic women’s week celebrations in the district.

Officers present in the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACD, Vijay Kumar; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; DO NRLM, Javed Ul Sofi; CDPO Rajouri, Naseer Ahmad and other concerned officers.

Addressing the officers in the meeting, the DDC said that the week is celebrated to highlight women’s achievements and discuss continuing and emerging women empowerment and gender equality issues and concerns, challenges and commitments.

Underlining various initiatives for the socio-economic development of the women, he informed that the District Administration Rajouri is making persistent efforts for the welfare of the women and necessary steps are being taken in this regard.

Highlighting the schemes launched by the Government for the welfare of women folk, he urged upon the concerned stakeholders to make women aware of these schemes and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same.

He also asked the concerned officers to work in cohesion and put in place all the arrangements for the smooth and successful celebrations of the week in the district.
