Jan Aushadhi Jan Jagran Abhiyan observed at Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Bemina

Srinagar, Mar 4:  While celebrating Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna week, Jan Aushadhi Jan Jagran Abhiyan was celebrated as a 4th day activity at Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Bemina, Srinagar.

 The Jan Aushadhi Jan Jagran Abhiyan was attended by all stakeholders of Jan Aushadhi including  Rifat Nazir, Nodal Officer, PMBI J&K and  all Kendra owners.

 The programme started with the Power Point Presentation (PPT) about the scheme while Rifat Nazir  presented a detailed report about the achievements and future targets of the scheme.

The program is being organised in connection with 4th Jan Aushadhi Diwas celebrations from 1st March to 7th March 2022 across the country.

The program is aimed at creating awareness about the benefits of the scheme through which quality medicines are made available to the general public at affordable prices. Hundreds of such Medical Kendra’s (stores) have already been established throughout J&K.

Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Director Health Services Kashmir who was chief guest of the event participated virtually.

While interacting with media Rifat Nazir Nodal Officer, PMBI for J & K and Ladakh highlighted the benefits of the scheme for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and ensured that every help would be provided to remotest people to avail the benefits b of the scheme.

Rifat Nazir thanked the Department of Health Services Kashmir and Jammu for their cooperation in implementing the scheme most effectively.

She paid gratitude to the Department of Drugs and Food Control also for their efforts in popularising the scheme across J&K. She further stated that about one hundred more Jan Aushadhi Kendra’s are being opened across J&K within a short span of time.

The Programme was organised with the support of PMBI medicines sole distributors for Kashmir and Ladakh, Malik Sales Agencies and its team.

She thanked all Kendra owners for extending their support to make today’s program a success. The programme concluded with distribution of chocolates and sweets to budding children.

Others who spoke on the occasion include, Dr Bilquees Shah Deputy MS JLNM Hospital Srinagar, Dr Zubair Saleem Geriatric Consultant JLNM Hospital Srinagar and Mohammad Rafi Matoo Secretary Red Cross Society Kashmir.

 Vote of thanks was presented by Shafqat Ara, Principal of Government Women’s Polytechnic College (GWPC) Srinagar.

JanAsuhadhi Diwas Pledge Certificates were also presented to some pharmacists and members of the civil society.

Besides owners and pharmacists of different Kashmir based Jan Asuhadhi Kendra’s and students of GWPC were also present in the function.
