International women week celebrated in Rajouri

Rajouri, Mar 4: To recognize achievements of women and raise awareness about their rights, One Stop Centre Rajouri today celebrated International Women Week here at Ancillary Nursing Medical Training (ANMT) School.

The event was organised on the directions of the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal and under the overall supervision of the Nodal Officer OSC, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt.

While speaking on the occasion Administrator One Stop Centre for women Rajouri, Neetu Sharma  said that International Women’s Day week is being celebrated by the Women and Child Development Ministry from the 1st of March as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. She also highlighted the role of one stop center for women and toll-free number 181.

The week is marked by honoring women   achievers regardless of the divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

 A number of speakers spoke during the event and discussed the ways for making the common women as equal partners in the decision-making process especially with regard to policy making.

Highlighting the achievements of the women in different fields, they emphasized that women are treading new paths to achieve socio-political and economic empowerment.

They also appreciated the endeavours of the women and stressed on the need to help them in achieving equality in the real sense of the term.

Throwing light on a number of women oriented schemes being launched by the Government from time to time, they motivated the women folk to avail the benefits of the same.

Prominent who spoke during the event included case worker, Suksham and case worker, Soonakshi.
