75 Jal Shakti Schemes completed, 161 nearing completion in Doda District

DDC reviews progress of ongoing projects; pulls up poor performers

Doda, Mar 4: The District administration Doda has started daily basis review and monitoring of progress of development projects to ensure their completion before the closing of the current financial year here under the supervision of District Development Commissioner Vikas Sharma.

In the series of meetings, the DDC today took a review of Jal Shakhti department projects here in the conference hall of DC office Doda.

The DDC was informed that 75 Jal Shakti Schemes have been completed and another 161 are nearing completion across Doda District. The works include projects taken up under Regular, NABARD, JJM, PRI grants and B2V schemes of Jal Shakti (PHE) department.

The DDC discussed in detail the project wise physical and financial status and bottlenecks, if any.

Taking strong note of dismal progress on some schemes, the DDC directed the ADDC to fix the responsibility and take action against  the engineers who failed to complete the projects during working season.

Further, he ordered to stop the salary of one Executive Engineer and directed the SE hydraulic circle Chenab region to black list the defaulter contractors for their casual attitude towards the completion of allotted works.

The DDC instructed the Jal Shakti department to come up with appreciable progress and take all the measures  for completing the allotted projects both physically and financially by the end of this financial year.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, SE Hydraulic Circle Doda, Executive Engineers, AEEs, JEs and other officials of Jal Shakti and the Planning department of the DC office.
