Delhi Wrestler Deepak Kakran wins Shiv Khori Kesari title 2022

Katra, Mar 3: The 24th Shiv Khori Kesari annual vishal Dangal was on held at Ransoo, base Camp of holy Shrine on the eve of Maha Shivratri.

The Dangal, which is locally known as Chinj, was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association with the active support of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, District administration Reasi, Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB) and Shiv Khori Dangal Committee under the overall supervision of, DDC member Kewal Krishan Sharma, Sarpanch Bhagwan Singh and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma.

Former Minister, Ajay Nanda was the chief guest on the occasion. Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also vice President Indian Style Wrestling Association of India presided over the function.

Naib Tehsildar Ransoo Baldev Raj, Inspector  Police Station  Ransoo, Kamalpreet, Inspector 126 Bn, CRPF Virender Kumar, Inspector Police Station Pouni, Vijay Sharma  were the guests of honour.

Sarpanch Vijay Kumar, Shamsher Singh, Joginder Singh, Sanjay Sahni, Sarpanch Bhagwan Singh, Sat Paul Verma, Om Parkash Verma, Lochan Singh , Romesh Bhagat, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma were the prominent persons present on the occasion.

Shiv Kumar Sharma thanked Director  Tourism Jammu, Vivekanand Rai for granting Rs, 1,00,000/-, 50,000/- by Deputy Commissioner  Reasi Babila Rakwal and Rs. 21,000/- by Sanjay Sahni of Delhi  for organizing the  mega Maha Dangal.

Shiv Kumar Sharma said Dangal keep away from many bad habits like drugs addition and inculcate principles of self discipline   in them.

38 bouts were played during the dangal in which local wrestlers and wrestlers from Delhi and Punjab partcipated.

Wrestler Deepak Kakran of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi declared  winner of “24th Shiv Khori Kesari Dangal Titile,” he was cash awarded with Rs, 12,000/- along with traditional “Gurj and Patta”while runner -up Wrestler Rashid of Domana Akhara Jammu got Rs 9,000/.

2nd main bout was won by Muneer Khan of  Nagrota who defeated Ajay  Sharma of Udhampur winner Muneer Khan cash awarded with cash 7,000/- while runner-up Ajay got Rs.5,000/-. Third bout was won by Bablu of Basantgarh  who defeated Sanjeet Singh of J&K Police, winner Bablu cash  awarded with  Rs. 6,000/- while runner-up Sanjeet Singh got Rs. 4,000/-.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Nanda emphasized the need of inculacting the spirit of sportsmanship  and its rule in National character building. He  said the event has become cemetery force between people of different regions  and provides encouragement  to the local wrestlers.

 One women bout was played between Arfana Akhtar of Pouni V/s Zahida of Karna. Winner Arfana Akhtar cash awarde with Rs. 1,100/- while runner- up Zahida  gor Rs. 1,000/-.

Member and technical official who helped for conduct of this dangal included Kewal Krishan Sharma, Sarpanch Bhagwan Singh, Sarpanch Vijay Kumar, Pawan Kholi, Shamsher Singh, Chain Kumar, Paul Chand, Kartar Singh, Madan Lal, Sat Paul singh , Surma Singh, Rashpaul Singh, Sunil Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Dr. Chaman lal Sharma, Romesh Chander Kholi, Romesh Chander Sharma, Sansar Chand , Tilak Raj Kholi, Kapoor Singh, Robin Banathia, Ashok Singh, Rattan Singh, Sohan Singh and Chanchal Singh (Numberdar).  Sanjeev Kumar Sharma was felicitated by the  Organizing Committee for prestigious National award (Best Teacher of J&K U.T) he got on September 05,2021.
