Drug Peddler Booked Under PSA In Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 1 : An alleged drug-peddler was booked under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) by Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday.

An official told GNS that a PSA order number DMS/PSA/43 /2022 dated 28.02.22 has been passed against one Shaid Ahmed Sheikh (alias Raga) son of Mohammad Akbar Sheikh, a resident of Panzinara.

The accused has been shifted to Central jail Srinagar for lodgment, the official further said.

Confirming it, a senior police officer told GNS that the accused was involved in drug peddling besides stone pelting incidents.

Notably, Srinagar administration over last several days intensified raids at the hotspots of drug peddling and drug abuse under “Mission Waapsi” aimed to curb the drug menace in the district.
