Fisheries Department hold draw of lots for selection of beneficiaries at Kupwara

Kupwara, Feb 21:  The Fisheries Department Kupwara today organized a draw of lots event at DC Office, here in presence of all members of District Level Committee for selection of beneficiaries.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din presided over the function.

The purpose of holding the draw of lots was to provide financial assistance for construction of low cost residential houses in favour of the fishermen community in a transparent manner in the district.

As many as 6 shortlisted fishermen from various areas of the district participated in the event and one fisherman was selected for the benefit of financial assistance under PMMSY.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officer to start the work of construction of the house and ensure its completion during the current financial year.
