DG IMPARD chairs online meeting regarding “Operationalization of Monthly Dashboard”

Srinagar, Feb 21: Director General, J&K Institute of Management Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD), Sourabh Bhaghat, today chaired an online meeting regarding “Operationalization of Monthly Dashboard” which has been created by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with IMPARD.

This dashboard will provide monthly delta changes and shall be more useful as compared with annual District Good Governance Index (DGGI). It will monitor progress on 10 sectors, 46 indicators and 140 data sets giving a snapshot of district development.

The tool was further refined after its initial launch on January 22, 2022. In this connection, A K Mehta, Chief Secretary, had directed J&K IMPARD to refine this tool with innovative features like generation of sectoral reports and dynamic tickers which can give members of the general public a real-time rank of the district.

The initiative of J&K government has been lauded by DARPG  as a best practice and is now being replicated by the Governments of Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat. The DGGI is a significant achievement of J&K IMPARD in 2021-22 and it is in line with the slogan of good governance given by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj  Sinha.

The DGGI dashboard 2.0 which is now under trial run is likely to be fully operationalized towards end of the current financial year.

The meeting was attended by Director General and Regional Directors, Department of Economics and Statistics and Deputy Commissioners, Chief Planning Officers besides District Statistical Officers of various districts.
