Director Agriculture reviews preparedness for valley wide vegetable seedling distribution drive

Srinagar, Feb 19: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today took stock of the preparations for the valley wide distribution drive of vegetable seedlings among the farmers.

He visited different seedling production installations including Seed Multiplication Farm Gangbug, Seed Multiplication Farm Harran and Hi-tech poly house Kitchen Garden premises Lalmandi.

Director Agriculture impressed upon the concerned officers/ technical experts to ensure that all the preparations for this valley wide campaign are completed well in time.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that the valley wide seedling distribution drive will commence from 24th of February 2022 in a phased manner. In addition to commercial vegetable cultivation, the vegetable enterprise is being adopted by the kitchen garden lovers, backyard farmers of the urban areas also, therefore this has raised the demand for vegetable seedlings manifold, he added.

Director asked the concerned officers/technical experts to work in close coordination so that the valley wide seedling distribution drive could be made successful.
