4 Drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla, 390 Gram Charas recovered: Police

Srinagar, February 17: Police on Thrusday said that they have arrested four drug peddlers along with 390 grams of Charas in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A statement issued to GNS, the police said that on routine naka checking, Baramulla Police under the supervision of Tariq Mehmood-JKPS, SDPO Kreeri assisted by Inspr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO PS Chandoosa and SI Irshad Ahmad, IC SHO police officer Kreeri arrested two drug peddlers namely Shakil Ahmad Beigh son of Fayaz Ahmad Beigh resident of Faqirbagh Chandoosa and Imtiyaz Ahmad Chopan son of Ab Sattar Chopan resident of Watergam and recovered 80 grams of Charas like substance each from their possession.

The statement further reads that similarly, during routine naka checking, Baramulla Police under the supervision of Hilal Khaliq-JKPS, SDPO Tangmarg assisted Inspector Shahnawaz Ahmad, SHO PS Tangmarg arrested 01 drug peddler namely Nadeem Ahmed Chak son of Ghulam Mohiudeen Chak resident of Qazipora Tangmarg & Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat @ Uka son of Habibullah Bhat resident of Ferozpora Tangmarg and recovered 100 grams & 130 grams of Charas like substance respectively from their possession.

Cases under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Chandoosa/ Kreeri & Tangmarg and investigation set in motion.
General People of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship, reads the police statement.
