SSP Doda holds public outreach camp in Gandoh village

Doda, Feb 2: Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Abdul Qayoom today convened a public meeting with PRIs, functionaries and prominent persons of Changa area during his visit to   Gandoh Sub Division.

 He listened to the grievances and issues of the people in presence of BDC Chairman Changa, members of panchayats and civil society members. SDPO Gandoh, Shahzada Kabir Matoo, SHO P/S Gandoh Insp. Vikram Singh and  I/C PP Changa were also present in the meeting.

The participants appreciated the police for conducting the public outreach programmes in  remote areas to listen to the problems and issues of the common man. They requested the Police to hold public outreach programmes on regular intervals to redress the problems of people residing in remote areas.

The locals also hailed the   launching of a special drive to round up the Drug peddlers in the area and resolving theft cases and recovering stolen property worth in  lacs.

Moreover, the participants projected  many demands and issues of the area which includes, monitoring and keeping close eye on medical shops which are running in Changa area to control sale of banned medicines by them, local VDCs  be directed to keep surveillance and check in their villages to stop distillation of illicit liquor. They also demanded adequate power supply to villages of Changa area and enforcement of notified passenger fare and check on overcharging.

  While addessing the participants, the SSP Doda assured them that their issues pertaining to police shall be resolved in the shortest possible time while those pertaining to civil dept will be taken up with concerned quarters  for early redress.

The participants were urged  to cooperate and provide assistance to police to eradicate crime from the society. They were also advised to spread awareness among the general public about COVID Appropriate Behaviour and follow the standing instructions strictly.
