DC Ramban inspects sinking road at Hirnihal Khari

Directs to speed up restoration work  

Ramban, Jan 31: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam leading a team of officers today inspected sinking stretch of Nachalana to Khari Mandakbas road at Hirnihal, Khari.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Banihal, Zaheer Abbas Bhat, Executive Engineer, PWD, Vinod Gupta and officers and Engineers of IRCON  were also present on the occasion.

Taking cognizance of the public issue, the DC visited the spot and after hearing stakeholders including DDC Councilor, SDM and Engineers of IRCON, directed the concerned authorities to speed up the restoration work to make this important road traffic worthy which provides connectivity to a large number of population of Mahu, Mangit and other surrounding areas, besides linking under-construction USBRL project.

The DC ordered the IRCON to speed up the renovation work on the 100 mtr sunken stretch to restore road connectivity to the area.

The DC also directed IRCON to consult Executive Engineer PWD to prepare an effective execution plan for maintenance of the road at Hirnihal besides blacktopping the road from Nachlana to Mandakbas.

He ordered that the whole stretch of Nachlana-Khari-Mandakbas link road up-to the under-construction Railway tunnel needs to be upgraded by way of anchoring, grouting and base strengthening, besides constructing proper drainage for a long term and permanent solution.
