ICDS Department observes National Girl Child Day at Anantnag

Celebrations held across all 8 projects

Anantnag, Jan 24: Amid strict adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour, ICDS Department today organized multiple functions here in Anantnag to mark the celebrations of National Girl Child Day-2022.

The functions were held on directions of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla across all 8 ICDS projects of the district with the aim to promote greater awareness about rights of girl child and gender equity.

District Programme Officer, ICDS, Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad presided over the function held at Bijbehara Project.

During these functions, stress was laid for putting in greater efforts by all stakeholders to end gender inequalities in the society.

At the end, 10 baby kits at each project were distributed among the new born girl children.

Besides ICDS officers, BMOs, Medical Superintendents of Sub district Hospitals and other officials from Health Department, attended the celebratory functions.
