Patients, attendants denied entry into JVC Hospital after authorities’ close hospital gate

Srinagar, Jan 17: Outside JVC Hospital a chaos like situation emerged as OPD services were shut for the patients by the authorities in wake of the upsurge in Covid-19 cases.

The main gate of the JVC Hospital here in Bemina area of Srinagar city was seen closed and patients and attendants were denied entry into the hospital. Patients were seen waiting near the closed gate, however, the employees of the hospital informed them that they won’t be allowed inside the hospital as OPD counters have been closed.

Pertinently, administration yesterday had announced that all the OPDs will remain open, however, authorities at JVC Hospital closed the OPD counters much discomfiture to the attendants and patients.

A doctor at the hospital told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the hospital has been designated as Covid-19 hospital and this is the reason OPD has been shut down for the patients.

The patients and attendants who had arrived in the hospital from far off places were seen waiting outside the hospital amid chill and rains.
