Rajouri: Annual action plan for BBBP discussed at District Level Task Force meeting

Arrangements finalised for celebration of National Girl Child Day

Rajouri, Jan 15: A meeting of the District level Task Force was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal to discuss the annual action plan under the BBBP Campaign in the district for the financial year 2022-23.

Officers who attended the meeting included ASP, Vivek Shekhar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and other concerned officers.

At the outset, the DSWO gave a comprehensive presentation on all the activities carried out in the district during the last financial year besides he also submitted the proposed action plan of activities to be undertaken during the financial year 2022-23.

The meeting had thorough deliberation on various issues of concern like child sex ratio, infant mortality rate, the ratio of drop out girl child, class-wise gender ratio, implementation of PC&PNDT Act in the district and related issues.  The DSWO also informed that there is considerable improvement in the child sex ratio besides a significant drop in the infant mortality rate in the district.

The DDC said that coordinated and convergent efforts are needed to ensure the survival, protection and education of the girl child.

He asked to take effective measures to further improvement in the child sex ratio besides he also asked for felicitation of the parents on the birth of a new girl child. It was also decided in the meeting that the District Level Task Force will make a surprise inspection of the sonographic clinic to ensure that nothing illegal is being carried out in the clinics.

The DC also directed the DSWO to submit the data of child sex Ratio of the past three years.

While taking note of pregnant ladies registered with the ICDS, the DPO informed that 4412 pregnant ladies are registered with the ICDS.

The meeting also finalised the arrangements for the celebration of National Girl Child Day.

The DDC also urged the participants to adopt best and innovative practices for the dissemination of information so that the message of the BBBP Scheme reaches every nook and corner of the district to achieve positive results on the ground.
