COVID—19 3rd wave: 42 doctors, paramedics test positive at GMC Sgr, associate hospitals

Tally reaches to 249 in fortnight

Srinagar, Jan 15 : Atleast forty-two doctors and paramedics of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and its associated hospitals have tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.

 

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 42 doctors and paramedics were tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.

Officials said that around 130 doctors and 120 paramedical staff from SMHS, LD hospital, Super Specialty Hospital Shireen Bagh and other associated hospitals have been tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 15 days.

He said that with more doctors and paramedics testing positive, “it is becoming a challenging situation to deal with the virus.”

“Despite the cases have increased generally, hospital admissions haven’t increased proportionally as most cases are mild and don’t need hospitalization,” an official said.
