DC Kulgam visits several areas of district

Oversees Snow clearance, Power restoration, availability of essentials

KULGAM, JANUARY 08: In order to take first hand appraisal of the situation arising due to Snowfall, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today toured various areas in Kulgam town.

During the tour, the DC inspected Snow-clearance operation and took first hand assessment of other arrangements put in place to deal with challenges from the prevailing weather condition in the district.

He visited Sub Divisional Mechanical department office Kulgam where it was informed that Snow clearance operations have been launched across the district and almost all priority 1st roads have been cleared and clearance operation on roads with priority 2nd is going on across the district smoothly.

The DC also visited Power Grid Station Kulgam and took stock of the power scenario in the district.

On the occasion, the Executive Engineer informed that all 33KV lines and stations stand charged and power supply is restored in various areas also. Besides, power restoration in other areas is being carried out and all men and machinery has been mobilized to ensure early restoration of power supply, he added.

The DC directed the concerned to carry out the restoration measures at a fast pace to restore power supply in all areas. He also directed the concerned Municipal Committees to ensure Snow clearance from all interior roads in the district.

He stressed for close coordination between line departments besides ensuring all Control Rooms established are functional round the clock for the convenience of the general public.

It was also shared that there is adequate stock of essentials available in the district.
