Srinagar, Dec 29: The minimum temperature across Kashmir valley plummeted to below freezing point on Wednesday with the famous ski resort of Gulmarg recording the seasons lowest at minus 10. 4 degree Celsius.
The weatherman has forecast dry weather with warm days and colder nights in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh.
The Meteorological Department Office said Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.3 degree Celsius against 1.4 degree Celsius the previous night.
The mercury settled at the world famous resort of Gulmarg at minus 10.4 degree Celsius against the minus 9.4 degree Celsius a day ago. Gulmarg in north Kashmir draped in a thick blanket of snow is overflowing with tourists on the eve of the New Year.

The frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.2 degree Celsius against minus 1.0 the previous day.
Leh had a low temperature of minus 14.7 degree Celsius against minus 14.0 degree Celsius the previous day, Kargil recorded a minimum temperature of minus 14.3 degree Celsius and Drass the second coldest place in the world after Siberia, recorded a low of minus 17.4 degree Celsius.
